[Entry #05]Meet the Interviewees #1...

Updated: Dec 16, 2020

Firstly, I've now conducted my interview with Robert Copeland successfully. However, he talked a lot about the finance side of how COVID-19 has affected education for international students. I kept trying to redirect him to talk more about the mental health side. He did talk a bit about it but I had to work with what I got so I managed to pick out his best soundbites. Another problem with Robert's interview was that his voice sounded very hoarse. This was because he told me that he had to speak quietly because a meeting was going on next door and also he had a bad throat that day which explains why his audio sounds the way it does. I edited it as best as I could to improve the quality of his audio.

Right now I have finished editing Maika and Fatema's interviews and have just started to cut down and edit Robert's.

This is a summary of what Robert discussed in his interview:

Like I mentioned above he highlighted many financial issues but this wasn't relevant to my documentary. However, he talked about how there are many international societies that are in Universities to help international students to connect with other students going through the same situation as them. Additionally, he predicts that learning will probably continue online in the future.

To hear more about what Robert has to say stay tuned for the final Radio Documentary.
